This is a great spot to camp at. There is a parking lot at the beginning of the Treasure Lakes Trail. The hike can be a little tough, especially with the 70 pounds I had on my back. It's a 3 mile hike, with a gain of 850'. You start at South Lake, which is at 9,800' and make your way up to Treasure Lake which is at 10,650'.
When we made it up there, there was only one other camper. There were a few day hikers who came up to the lake for the fishing.
I was up there in September, and it can get pretty cold at night. In fact, we experienced a little bit of snowfall, so thank goodness for my 20 degree sleeping bag. Plus, the wind was howling all night, so be sure to stake your tent down well.
Aside from the cold and wind, the scenery was beautiful!
