You probably won't find yourself in Ningbo on your next vacation, but you may find yourself there on a business trip one day. The city is a port city and about 100 miles from Shanghai. They recently built a bridge so you can make the drive from Ningbo to Shanghai in about 3 hours. Ningbo is home to many manufacturing companies.

I stayed at a hotel called Nanyuan Hotel. They tout themselves as the first 5 star hotel in Ningbo. I personally stayed in a small suite, and really like the accommodations. Everything was modern and upscale. The hotel has several great restaurants and bars. They have all the standard amenities, such as a pool and spa, which I didn't get a chance to experience. But from what I did experience, I would definitely recommend staying here.
